Today, we are going to dive into the food trends of Summer 2025. Some are similar to ones we have seen in the past while others are brand new and ready to take on the summer! Sweet and Spicy AKA “Swicy”



One of the hottest and sweetest trends right now, no pun intended, is what many call “swicy.” Swicy combines the flavors of sweet and spicy in food dishes and drinks. This trend has taken over various dishes and drinks, and even products from grocery stores. For example, Trader Joe's has spicy mango lemonade and jalapeño limeade drinks. Like last year, Hot Honey continues to rise. Whether it’s recipes focusing on Hot Honey chicken, Hot Honey pizza, or Hot Honey Cheesy Zucchini, swicy is here to stay. Although not a new concept, many brands are creating new products that combine both the sweet and spicy, and it’s expected to be around for a while!

This method allows individuals to be more in tune with their farming communities, ties into ideas of sustainability and cleaner eating, reduces food waste, and leads to a cleaner and fresher diet. As garden-to-table meals focus on sourcing meals from local locations, fresh ingredients, and a reduction in carbon emissions, we can expect to see garden parties in the summer of 2025.
